Beautiful Stone Creek Inn has become a fixture in fine dining in the Hamptons since celebrated chef Christian Mir and his wife Elaine opened the restaurant in East Quogue in 1996. Their modern French cuisine and award winning wine list have won awards from both the press and patrons.
“Favorite restaurant on the East End... where price is matched by quality. Service is attentive but not overly so. Decor is serene and quietly lit. Food has been consistently wonderful - restaurant week, high summer, late in the day, whatever...”
“The 1st time we went in the off-season the food was excellent.
the 2nd time we went with a party of 6 and 2 of the mains came out RAW, yes two veal chops came out not even rare BUT NOT cooked. Also, they tried to palm off a 2007 Pitite Sirah as a 2003 off their wine list. When I nicely suggested they change the vintage on their menu, their sommelier made a big scene. Maybe this was but an off night on what was a very busy weekend.
I have many friends who regard this as the BEST restaurant in the Hamptons but by NYC standards it rates as merely average to poor IMO
We will return this winter to give them another go as so many people rave about the food”
“An excellent restaurant. Inventive menu, superb execution. Fine wine list. The Prix fixe menu on certain nights is an excellent value. Friendly and professional staff. A favorite”
