details:
The Bridgehampton Museum, in collaboration with The Museum of Democracy, present a special exhibition, Path to The Presidency, George Washington to Donald Trump, at The Bridgehampton Museum’s Corwith House, 2368 Montauk Highway. The exhibition will be open through this October. The exhibition consists of items on loan from The Museum of Democracy’s Wright Family Collection, including campaign ceramics, flags, posters, parade lanterns, torches, games and stickers, all of which gives evidence to the powerful role of campaign advertising in American elections from George Washington to Donald Trump. While many have commented that the 2016 Presidential campaign was the most shocking and unexpected campaign ever in America, this exhibition suggests that mudslinging and provocative slogans have always been a part of the American political landscape.
