Who’s Under that Log? Let’s Find Out—Hands-on Workshop About Decomposers: Family/Children Ages 6 & Older
Workshop Leader: Eleni Nikolopoulos, South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) Environmental Educator

After a tree falls, what happens to it? In this exciting program we’ll go out into the Greenbelt and explore a fallen tree. We’ll figure out who lives under the bark, who lives under the log, and who is growing on top of the log. We’ll discuss how each organism we find on this log plays a part in the ecosystem. It’s important to remember that every living being on our planet has an effect, no matter how small. When we look at life under a log, we can put into perspective the whole forest and all the life in it. Join us for a look under a log and an exploratory experience!

Advance reservations are required. Programs free for SoFo members. Non-members: $15/ adult, $10/child 3-12 years, 2 and under free. Fees include free admission to the museum on the day of the event.
