Beyond the Crown - A Floral Headpiece Workshop

This event requires registration, see below

  • Sat, Jul 06, 2019 10:00 AM-1:00 PM
Garden of Dennis Schrader & Bill Smith
1200 East Mill Road, Mattituck
Join renowned floral artist Joshua Werber for a hands-on workshop using extraordinary flora from the garden of Dennis Schrader and Bill Smith. Drawing from the natural world, Joshua's lush aesthetic and sculptural approach results in work that playfully engages with surrounding people and places and is in high demand. His gravity-defying headpieces have been seen in the New York Times, the Highline Hat Party, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Gala, and Joshua will help participants create their own wearable art. He will demonstrate techniques for wiring and conditioning flowers and foliage. Exploring Joshua’s philosophy, participants will be encouraged to think of plants and flowers in new ways, and through playful, intuitive experimentation, allow the materials to guide their own creation.
