A Flanders man is facing felony drug charges after being arrested by Southampton Town Police over the weekend during a traffic stop in East Quogue.

Justin Adamo, 33, was stopped on Sunday at approximately 7 p.m. on County Road 104 near Sunrise Highway and found to be in possession of heroin and cocaine. Lieutenant Susan Ralph declined to disclose the weight of the drugs, offering only that the undisclosed weight of the drugs showed that Mr. Adamo had “intent to sell.”

According to a press release on Tuesday, Mr. Adamo was originally stopped for multiple traffic violations, including driving his Ford pickup truck with an obstructed view, as well as driving with an improperly displayed license plate.

Mr. Adamo was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.

Mr. Adamo was taken into custody by Southampton Town Community Response officers and transported to police headquarters in Hampton Bays for processing. Details regarding his arraignment were not immediately available on Tuesday afternoon.

Included in the press release was a public request asking community members to notify police with tips on narcotic sales by calling 631-728-3454. Lt. Ralph said, “We want to keep drugs off the streets of our community.”
