Donald Bennetter of Westhampton died on February 28, 2019.
Known to his family as “Pops,” he was a teacher at Garden City High School. Survivors said he will be remembered for being able to make those around him laugh and smile.
Mr. Bennetter is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Elizabeth K. Davidson (Bradley), Dorothea K. Adams (Michael), Marguerite K. Kircher (Stephen) and Thomas Bennetter (Kathleen); a sister, Suzanne Middendorf; 10 grandchildren, Brendan Brown (Sara), Margaret Brown, Joe Brown (Kathleen), Sean Adams, Emily Adams, Mary Kate Adams, Thomas Adams, Sable Kircher, Cullen Kircher, and Kathleen “Boo” Bennetter; three great-grandchildren; Jet Arellano, Ryan Brown, and Ella Brown; many nieces and nephews; and many great friends. He was predeceased by a son, Walter F. Kramer III.
Visitation was held at Werner Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on Monday. A funeral Mass took place on Tuesday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue. Interment followed at Holy Rood Cemetery.
