  • On October 7, nine Jet Ski operators from East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue used four jet skis in the open waters of Gardiners Bay where they practiced loading and unloading people from the watercraft to the 47-foot United States Coast Guard Motor Life Boat while moving at 10 knots. The goal of the training was to build a working relationship with the Coast Guard crew and to get comfortable with equipment and techniques used by other agencies so that they can conduct search and rescue operations when needed.<br/><span style='font-style:italic'>Submitted Oct 15</span>
