  • Four Bridgehampton School students recently attended the Hampton Bays Bullying Prevention Summit: sixth-grader Sarah Kapon, seventh-grader Helio Paucar, sixth-grader Aiyanna Spears and eighth-grader Ryeasia Walker will serve in leadership roles and help enhance awareness and provide hope and alternatives as members of the newly formed antibullying committee at the school. As representatives for Bridgehampton, they took part in discussions on effective bullying and cyber-bullying prevention strategies and learned skills and resources to empower them and to set a positive example for others.   • The Water Mill Bridge Club held its 15th annual Lipetz-Brennan Silver Bowl Championship bridge game on October 11. Last year's winners Ed Brennan, formerly of Bridgehampton and Geoff O'Connor of Southampton, again won the silver bowl. The game is held in honor of Maire Lipetz, who was a champion bridge instructor and player for over 50 years and her long-time student, friend and now champion player and partner, Ed Brennan. Ed now resides in England but makes the trip back to his home town each year to play in and present the trophy to the winners.   • Bridgehampton School students in grades four through eight met Los Angeles Dodgers baseball pitcher Shea Spitzbarth during the school's after-school baseball camp on October 4 and 5.   • Bridgehampton High School senior James Fairchild has been named a Borlaug Scholar by Cornell University for his efforts in addressing food insecurity in Liberia.
