May 9, 2017 9:56 AM

Former pro and current television analyst Patrick McEnroe will oversee summer tennis training at The John McEnroe Tennis Academy at Sportime Amagansett this summer.

McEnroe has been coaching at Sportime Randall’s Island, the company’s 20-court flagship club in Manhattan, since January, but he will be joining the Amagansett club for the entire month of August, the club announced on Monday. Sportime CEO Claude Okin, who started the company in Amagansett in 1989, said in a press release that it will be exciting to have McEnroe on the East End this summer.

“As Patrick has settled into his role as JMTA co-director, his active engagement, his obvious dedication, and his impressive wealth of tennis know-how, have been embraced by all. We are certainly lucky to have Patrick supporting John’s vision and our mission. His impact at Amagansett JMTA this summer, and his presence out east during the month of August, is going to be awesome!”

McEnroe will be joined by JMTA Amagansett’s director and Randall’s Island coach Dan Cochrane, JMTA Amagansett’s assistant director and Randall’s Island coach Tarun Kishan, JMTA Randall’s Island coaches Jan Kuncik and Milo Hauk, and by Sportime Amagansett’s seasonal coaching staff of college and international coaches. In addition to providing oversight, McEnroe will be in residence at Sportime Amagansett during the month of August, working with students and coaches at daily JMTA sessions.

“I am really looking forward to being a part of the team at Sportime Amagansett, and to enjoying the area with my family,” McEnroe said through a press release. “For players and parents looking for a great junior tennis training experience in the Hamptons this summer, JMTA Amagansett will be the place to be! I am looking forward to meeting and working with lots of great tennis kids and families.”
