Dorothy Margaret Cebulski of Amagansett died on February 15. She was 81.
One of six children, she was born on April 17, 1933, in Brooklyn, to Walter and Margaret Lagarenne. She lived in Brooklyn and Queens, and summered in Amagansett until 1983, when she moved to her waterfront home in Amagansett full time.
Ms. Cebulski summered with her family at Hither Hills, where she met her husband, Eugene Cebulski. They were married on October 4, 1953, and they had four children together.
She enjoyed singing and sang in the Hampton Chorus and Most Holy Trinity Church choir. She was a member of Sunshine Club, AARP, and the American Legion. She was also a fan of football and golf.
Survivors said that Ms. Cebulski was very family oriented and loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her cats also brought her great joy, they said.
Ms. Cebulski was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, in 2009, and by three brothers, Jean, Harold and Walter, and a sister, Florence. She is survived by four children, David Cebulski and wife Susan of Florida, Richard Cebulski and wife Sharon of Massapequa, Catherine Fromm and husband Michael of Amagansett, and Daniel Cebulski and wife Nidia of East Hampton. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kenneth Fromm and Mary Karpinski of Amagansett, Adam and Dana Cebulski of East Hampton, and Sarah and Laura of Florida; a brother, Robert Lagarenne of West Islip; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is being planned.
