Lillian Boldak Hendrickson of Bridgehampton died in Florida on June 29, surrounded by her family. She was 97.
Lillian Boldak was born in Mecox on June 19, 1918, to Charles and Eva Boldak. She attended the Bridgehampton School, where she played on the high school basketball team. She married Peter Wilson, who predeceased her, and had a son, Peter Charles of Bridgehampton.
She married Walter J. Simpson, who also predeceased her, in 1948, and had two daughters, Kathleen Mary and Laurie Ann.
In 1956, she moved with her family to South Florida, where she studied art and theatrical costume design. She lived in South Florida until after Mr. Simpson’s death. She married Richard Hendrickson of Bridgehampton in 1982.
Ms. Hendrickson was a talented artist, vocalist and loving wife and mother, survivors said. In February of this year she moved back to Florida due to failing health, to be in the care of her children.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Hendrickson of Bridgehampton; children, Peter Wilson and wife Joan of Bridgehampton, Kathy Rowland and husband Michael of Georgia, and Laurie Steele of Florida. She is also survived by grandchildren, Laura Fisher, Bobby Rhone and Lyndsey Steele; great-grandchildren, Patrick Verrier and Hannah Rhone; and a brother, David Boldak of Florida. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert W. Boldak.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
