A start-up real estate firm, launched in 2013, is setting down roots in the Hamptons. In early fall, after an extensive search, New York City-based Compass will take over a space on Main Street in Bridgehampton.
With offices in Washington, D.C., and Miami as well as its Manhattan headquarters, the firm’s move out east is part of its larger expansion along the East Coast, including a foray into Boston.
The building in Bridgehampton, located on the south side of Montauk Highway, was formerly occupied by rival Corcoran until this past June, when the company moved into a neighboring space. It is unclear how much of the building Compass will use, but it nets a total of 3,600 square feet with 1,400 square feet of retail space, according to LoopNet.
The firm will hardly be alone in the busy hamlet, as it joins the ranks of several competitors, including Nest Seekers, Sotheby’s International Realty and Town & Country.
