One person was flown to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a two-car crash in Bridgehampton on Wednesday morning.

The crash took place at the intersection of Lumber Lane and the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike and was reported to police at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday. According to Southampton Town Police Detective Sergeant Lisa Costa, the driver of a four-door Honda was at a stop sign on Lumber Lane and attempting to turn left onto the turnpike when they collided with a landscaping truck driving northbound on the road.

The Honda driver was taken via Bridgehampton Fire Department Ambulance to the ball field at the Bridgehampton Elementary School on School Street where they were transferred to a Suffolk County helicopter en route to Stony Brook Hospital. The driver of the landscaping truck was uninjured.

The Bridgehampton Fire Department, fire police and ambulance, Suffolk County Aviation and Southampton Town Police all responded to the scene.

Good idea -- and you're right, it seems like one a day at least!

Just last night there were two killed and one critical practically jn my front yard!

Is there that great an increase in MVAs, or are the 27 East reporters just relying on police reports to a greater extent?

We all know why these accidents are much more prevalent. Unlicensed drivers and people of that ilk. It's time to crack down and start deporting people.

We actually don't know that.

Maybe some data on auto accidents would be helpful.

Please refrain from suggesting that everyone agrees with you when making such broad claims.
