Gloria Simpson Talmage, formerly of Bridgehampton, died on March 16, 2019, in Port St. Lucie Florida. She was 90.

Born on May 5, 1928, in New York City to Walter H. and Florence Trenkle Simpson, she graduated from Bridgehampton High School in 1946. She married Albert Richard Talmage on August 29, 1948; Mr. Talmage predeceased her in 2016.

They lived in Bridgehampton until health prevented them from being “snowbirds” and they moved to Florida full time.

Ms. Talmage worked as office manager for the Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership on Hill Street in Southampton for just under 40 years; through ownership changes from Lester Motors, then Santacroce Motors, and then Hull Chevrolet-Olds Inc.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Steudte and husband Harald Steudte of Southampton; her grandchildren, Jennifer Parendo and husband Keith Parendo of Babylon, and Benjamin Steudte from Hampton Bays; four great-grandchildren, Joseph, Charlotte and Michael Parendo, and Kennedy Steudte. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter J. Simpson in 1979; and stepmother, Marion Simpson.

Visitation was held on March 20 at the O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held on March 21 at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary in Bridgehampton, followed by interment at Edgewood Cemetery in Bridgehampton.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Tee, thefirsttee.org, or the Bridgehampton Fire Department Ambulance Corps. The First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to kids and teens.
