Bill Clinton Arrives For Amagansett Vacation, Hillary To Follow Later This Week

Secret Service agents guard the Amagansett House where the former President and First Lady are staying for the next two weeks. M. Wright
Aug 18, 2015 1:20 PM

Former President Bill Clinton arrived in East Hampton on Sunday for a two-week stay that will be peppered with fundraisers for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Ms. Clinton, the former secretary of state and a former U.S. senator from New York, is not expected to arrive in East Hampton until later in the week, ahead of the first of four major fundraisers at private homes around Southampton and East Hampton towns that will kick off this coming Saturday, August 22.

Ms. Clinton’s stay will be intermittent. She is not expected to arrive in East Hampton until Wednesday and will depart again for at least two days next week for a campaign stop in Cleveland on August 27, and for the Democratic National Committee meeting in Minnesota on August 28. Ms. Clinton then will return to the East End for fund-raisers in Southampton and East Hampton on the last weekend of August.

Her local fundraising schedule will be similar to past campaign drop-ins. On August 22, she will attend a cocktail fundraiser, dubbed “A Conversation With Hillary” by her campaign, at the Water Mill estate of Selma and Artie Rabin. After her trip to the Midwest she will return for three events on August 30: a breakfast gathering at investment manager Alan Patricof’s house in East Hampton, a luncheon at designer Tory Burch’s house in Southampton, and then an evening cocktail party at entertainment lawyer Elliot Groffman’s house in East Hampton that will be catered by Almond chef Jason Weiner, the brother-in-law of Ms. Clinton’s longtime aide Huma Abedin.

The Clintons are staying at the same waterfront house in Amagansett that they rented last summer for a reported $100,000 for the entire two weeks. The home, on Broadview Lane, overlooking Gardiners Bay, is believed to be owned by Andre Nasser.

The Clintons, like all former First Families, have full Secret Service protection and occasionally travel with police escorts, but how Ms. Clinton’s travels between events, especially on August 30, will impact motorists on local roads is not known.

Local police officials said this week that they had not been told in advance of Ms. Clinton’s planned movements or whether police escorts will be used when she is traveling, but said the disruptions are not expected to be substantial, as they can be when sitting presidents or foreign dignitaries are in the area.

Earlier this year, Suffolk County Police Department motorcycle officers did a mock-up training for escorting a motorcade, halting traffic briefly at busy intersections to let the motorcade pass without stopping, but it is not known whether such escorts will be used for the Clintons’ travels this month.

When Vice President Joseph Biden vacationed in Southampton the last few summers, his motorcade comprised only a few government SUVs with no police escorts.

“It’s not like the 1990s, when Bill Clinton was campaigning out here and we had all these events and road closures,” East Hampton Town Police Chief Michael Sarlo said. “They’re pretty self-sufficient.”

An interesting question:

When Mrs. Clinton goes to prison for failure to secure government secrets and "mis-speaking" does the secret service have to join her to protect her in prison?

I think it would be unfair.

Follow up questions: Will she look good in a jump suit? What colors will she look best in?

Happy anniversary yesterday Mr. Clinton. On August 17, 1998 you became the first sitting president to testify before a grand jury investigating your conduct, and after the questioning at the White House, you went on national TV to admit you had an inappropriate relationship with Monica Lewinsky. What a difference 17 years will make.

EXCLUSIVE: Hillary's email firm was run from a loft apartment with its servers in the BATHROOM, raising new questions over security of sensitive messages she held

this cant be for real ?
Aug 18, 15 4:32 PM appended by Erin 27 E
The IT company Hilary Clinton chose to maintain her private email account was run from a loft apartment and its servers were housed in the bathroom closet, Daily Mail Online can reveal. Daily Mail Online tracked down ex-employees of Platte River Networks in Denver, Colorado, who revealed the outfit's strong links to the Democratic Party but expressed shock that the 2016 presidential candidate chose the small private company for such a sensitive job. One, Tera Dadiotis, called it 'a mom and pop shop' which was an excellent place to work, but hardly seemed likely to be used to secure state secrets. And Tom Welch, who helped found the company, confirmed the servers were in a bathroom closet. It can also be disclosed that the small number of employees who were aware of the Clinton contract were told to keep it secret. The way in which Clinton came to contract a company described as a 'mom and pop' operation remains unclear. However Daily Mail Online has established a series of connections between the firm and the Democratic Party.
By Erin 27 E (1263), hampton bays on Aug 18, 15 4:32 PM
Servers for her e-mail wouldn't require much space. A terabyte worth of drive space in a RAID array would suffice. You could easily fit a home server on the top shelf of your hall closet, preferably wired to your router. If you used four SSDs in your RAID array, it would take up even less space and be easily six times faster than standard mechanical drives. Instead of SATA drives, you could use PCI cards (bookoo bucks) and the speeds are pretty much astonishing...
By Mr. Z (11693), North Sea on Aug 18, 15 9:32 PM
I see your point. Rather than keeping the servers in am unsecured building bathroom closet and with space being being a primary concern, they probably could have been kept in the storage closet or perhaps the attic.
Aug 19, 15 6:43 AM appended by Mr. Snerdley
Certainly the space in the bathroom closet of an unsecured building could have been better used for toilet paper, physical hard copies of classified material, or even presidential directives.

SUSAN PAGE, USA TODAY: I think we've been wrong from the start about Trump and his appeal. He's disproved the idea that the things we see as gaffes would undermine him, that hasn't happened. So I think it's now conceivable that he's the nominee.

I mean, just look at the Reuters/Ipsos poll from Friday, Trump got 44%. Thats a level of support, that not only wins you in Iowa and New Hampshire. But in South Carolina and could carry you quite a ways

Need some reasons not to vote for Trump?
Look at his feud with Megyn Kelly. His behavior is childish, vindictive, thin-skinned, disrespectful, tasteless, and impulsive. These are not qualities that one would normally look for in a US President. Speaking your mind is one thing, but if your mind is filled with complete nonsense it may be better to not speak at all. Go away, Mr. Trump. Your country needs you to go away.

BTW, besides the deregulation that unleashed the financial industry and corruption on a level unseen in decades, where do you think the fiat currency came from to support the development boom on the East End during the Eighties? That's right, you guessed it: The Federal Reserve.
By Mr. Z (11693), North Sea on Aug 27, 15 3:07 AM
That's a rather regressive reaction for a Progressive. Mark Levin is dead on.

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve notes the declining validity of M data - "Over recent decades, however, the relationships between various measures of the money supply and variables such as GDP growth and inflation in the United States have been quite unstable. As a result, the importance of the money supply as a guide for the conduct of monetary policy in the United States has diminished over time."
By Po Boy (5104), Water Mill on Aug 27, 15 6:15 PM
No, Mark Levin is full of ****.

The same Federal Reserve policy has existed under EVERY administration since 1980. He wants fame and fortune, and he's using hate to goad you nitwits into giving it to him with every book sale.

You're being used and you're not even smart enough to know it.
Aug 27, 15 6:24 PM appended by Mr. Z
And, maybe they're right about the money supply, but what is undeniable is M2 velocity being at a modern historical low. Lower than the lowest it ever was in the fourth quarter of 1964. When money makes money and rent seeking creates comfort there is no reason for risk or reinvestment. There's a reasoning behind the term "Fat Cat".

Well Z, even by your very own acknowledgement the Federal Reserve itself is discounting the value of the monetary supply in establishing policy. So this pretty much destroys your original attack on Mark Levin for his alleged ignoring of monetary policy in his book - it's a zero sub gain.

Not really. The original post was a royal condemnation of the president, Democrats, and anyone considered a RINO. "Real" Republicans are our salvation, according to him. Maybe someday the entire United States could resemble Wisconsin and Florida.

As far as M2 velocity, it's cesspool value seems pretty accurate if you look around hard enough.
