Virginia Walker McKay
Virginia Walker McKay of Florida, and a longtime resident of the East End, died in Riverhead on Monday, January 9. She was 96.
Born to Stanley and Stephania Dombkowski on November 4, 1915, she resided in Wainscott and Bridgehampton with Chester Walker, her first husband. When she married again, she lived with her husband, Edward McKay Sr., in Aquebogue, Riverhead, and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
She is survived by her children, Chester Walker Jr. and his wife Leona of Bridgehampton, Caroline Walker Rubsamen and her husband Ted Jr. of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Cheryl Walker Babinski of Southampton, Ted Rubsamen III of Virginia and Todd Rubsamen of Purchase; great-grandchildren, Michelle Niles of Florida, Vicki Mueller of Hampton Bays, Steven Babinski of Southampton, Sophia and Tess Virginia Rubsamen of Virginia and Todd Joseph of Purchase; and one great-great grandson, Matthew Niles. She was predeceased by her first and second husbands Mr. Walker and Mr. McKay, as well as her grandson, Charles Walker.
Visitation was held on Thursday at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, Janurary 13, at Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church in Southampton. Interment followed at Sacred Hearts Roman Catholic Cemetery in Southampton.
