An early poll commissioned by Democratic U.S. Representative Tim Bishop’s campaign suggests that he currently holds a double-digit lead over Republican Randy Altschuler, the congressman’s possible challenger this November and the man who came within 600 votes of unseating him two years ago.
The poll, which was paid for by Tim Bishop for Congress, concludes that the incumbent congressman currently holds a 17-point lead over Mr. Altschuler, who hopes to challenge Mr. Bishop a second time this fall. While he recently secured the Independence Party line, Mr. Altschuler, who was the Republican nominee in 2010, must first hold off a challenge from fellow Republican George Demos in a primary election that is scheduled for June 26 before securing the GOP line this November.

will be much better off with him in office. He is a hard worker, dedicated, and
posesses a great deal of integrity. Moreover, he is well respected amongst his peers in Congress, and his seniority can truly benefit our district.
GO BISHOP!!
Since it hasn't gotten much attention in the media, let's not forget that Chairman Frank MacKay's three principal (only?) Independence Party officeholders on the East End -- Assemblyman Fred Thiele, County Legislator Jay Scheiderman & Southampton Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst -- repudiated his one-man endorsement ...more of Altschuler and came out unequivocally for Bishop as "the only independent" in the race this year.
Question: Where is Frank MacKay without his elected officials?
Answer: Nowhere.
The conservative narrative.
He must have been HORRIBLE at his supervisory position, Mick.
Did you ever think that maybe it was just to cut costs, so as to keep the bottom line, pay level, and salary increases for the top end?
I'd bank on the latter...
"It also notes that Mr. Bishop is 'well-liked across partisan lines,' explaining that he possesses a 69 percent favorable rating among Democrats and a 59 percent favorable rating with independents. Even four in 10 Republicans polled gave him a favorable rating, the report states."

The poll is too small and too early to be predictive but it's nice to have my impression of ...more Bishop's appreciation by his constituents confirmed.
It would seem that the small number who think that he is the anti-Christ all post on this forum.
I wonder what it's like to be so full of hate?
better watch out....
Looking at the other posts in your short career, I'll give you the nod for calling out old Neil Tiger on some of his endless nonsense, and also for nailing the Wilson scenario as the Chief doing his job like a pro while a catfight goes on around him.
This ...more charge that Bishop's ducking a debate is phony, though. Remember, last time it was Randy who backed out of a debate claiming a scheduling conflict, but when you're the challenger, what event could be more important than debating the incumbent? And besides, both men had become their respective parties' candidates by then. This time, Tim's right to hold off until Randy gets the Rep nomination. Why should he debate someone who's not an official candidate yet? He might as well debate you. (There's a thought.)
I think the only thing you should be complaining about is the failure of the educational system to adequately prepare you for life as an adult as evidenced by your post.
The value of the dollar as he continues to vote for nationalizing huge swaths of the private economy. Socialism is a failed philosophy, the only thing that is equally shared is the misery it ...more causes as your economy collaspes. Tim is a very poor student of history , is frightened of everything and everybody and does exactly what he is told to do by Nancy Pelosi et al. Check out what happened to Argentina's economy with the likes of Tim Bishop running their economy
