New York State residents with limited incomes or limited health coverage can now contact the Partnership for Prescription Assistance to get help obtaining prescription medications, according to a statement released this week by Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman and the Suffolk County Office for People with Disabilities.

The new organization aims to coordinate the efforts of pharmaceutical companies, doctors, health care providers and patient advocacy organizations and community groups to help individuals without prescription coverage get the medicines they need through public and private programs. The medications will be provided at little or no cost to the patients. The organization is supported locally by Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman and the Suffolk County Office for People with Disabilities.
