BookHampton Owner Jeremy Nussbaum Dies June 12

Jeremy Nussbaum, the owner, with his wife, Charline Spektor, of the BookHampton stores in Southampton, East Hampton, Sag Harbor and Mattituck, died at his Amagansett home on June 12. He was 70.

Mr. Nussbaum was among the foremost intellectual property attorneys in the nation. As a partner at Cowan, Leibowitz and Latman, he counseled clients on copyright and entertainment matters and handled negotiations for the acquisition, sale or license of copyrighted works and for the services of writers, directors and others.

A 1964 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, he earned a law degree at New York University. He was named in New York Super Lawyers in 2010 and was vice-chair and counsel for the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Mr. Nussbaum is survived by his wife, Charline Spektor; and two children, Gabriel (Elizabeth) and Lily Claire.

A funeral was held on Thursday, June 14, at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons, 44 Woods Lane in East Hampton.
