Etiquette expert Patricia Napier-Fitzpatrick and art advisor Anne Hargrave will conduct a “The Etiquette and Art of Buying at Auction” seminar during a special after-hours talk and viewing at Christie’s auction house in Manhattan on Friday, December 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The discussion will also include an exclusive tour of Christie’s led by Rahul Kadakia, jewelry department head. Participants will get a sneak peak of some of the auction house’s recent jewel acquisitions.
During her talk, Ms. Hargrave, founder of Anne Hargrave Fine Art, will discuss savvy buying at auction without intimidation. Her presentation will include the finer points of understanding price-versus-value. She will also share how to be courageous and smart in bidding on objects large and small.
Ms. Napier-Fitzpatrick, the founder and director of The Etiquette School of New York in Manhattan, will advise on the do’s and don’ts of auction house etiquette. During her discussion, she will present interactive and entertaining lessons on the etiquette of buying art at auction.
