Hampton Real Estate Online, a portal for East End residential real estate listings, has a new owner.
New York City real estate online marketplace StreetEasy revealed January 12 that its operating company, Zillow Group, bought HREO.
“HREO and StreetEasy are leaders and experts in two real estate markets that are not only critically important on their own, but are also intrinsically linked to one another: the Hamptons and NYC. It’s a natural pairing,” StreetEasy general manager Susan Daimler said in a press release. “We’re excited to bring our resources and focus to another unique market that also has a large shared audience among the buyers, renters and real estate professionals in NYC and to work closely with our industry partners to develop even better tools and experiences.”
In addition to acquiring HREO.com, Zillow gains RealNet and Open RealNet Exchange, HREO’s listing entry and distribution software that is commonly referred to as OREX.
Nicholas Khuri, who was the co-founder and owner of RealNet and HREO, said in a prepared statement, “I’m excited to see what the future holds for HREO. StreetEasy is an integral part of the housing landscape in New York, and I believe HREO will continue to thrive under their leadership.”
