East End Arts Gallery Seeks Entries For ‘Collage’ Juried Show

author on Mar 30, 2017

The East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead is calling on artists to enter its upcoming juried art show “Collage.”

Gail Levin, a distinguished professor of art history at City University of New York, will serve as guest juror for this collage media art show. Ms. Levin is a renowned collage artist, herself, and an authority on realist painter and printmaker Edward Hopper.

Original works in all collage media may be submitted. Each artist may submit up to three works. Ms. Levin will review all submissions and decide which pieces will be included in the exhibition.

“Today’s collage is a beautiful and sophisticated art form balancing composition, color and content with personal style,” said East End Arts Gallery director Jane Kirkwood.

“Collage” is one of seven art shows at the East End Arts Gallery in 2017 under the umbrella theme “Elements of Style.” The Best in Show winner will be one of several artists who will participate in the East End Arts Gallery’s Winners’ Show in the fall of 2018. First, second, third place, and honorable mentions will also be awarded.

All entries must be dropped off in person at the East End Arts Gallery between Thursday, June 8, and Saturday, June 10. The opening reception will be held on Friday, June 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, visit eastendarts.org.
