Guild Hall Accepting Applications For 2018 Guild House Artist Residencies

author on Oct 9, 2017

Guild Hall in East Hampton is now accepting submissions to its 2018 Guild House Artist-in-Residence program for early career artists in the fields of visual, literary and performing arts.

For the program’s third year, there will be two sessions—spring and fall—rather than just one. Each four-week session will host a different crop of four artists.

The residency program was designed to further Guild Hall’s mission to foster the artistic spirit on the East End, according to the nonprofit arts institution. It includes a series of weekly salon dinners for the resident artists to meet established artists and community leaders and discuss a diverse array of topics. New for 2018, the residencies will use Guild House as a site for exhibitions, installations, performances and other imaginative, but impermanent, uses.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and demonstrate professionalism in their field. A selection committee of artists and writers, creative professionals, and members of Guild Hall’s Academy of the Arts will pick the residents.

The residents will each have a private room at Guild House and receive a $1,000 stipend and Hampton Jitney tickets for four round-trips to New York City. Residents will have the opportunity to present and discuss their work in Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater at the conclusion of the residency.

The 2018 sessions will run from April 2 to 30 and October 22 to November 19. The last day to apply is November 10, 2017. Apply at guildhall.slideroom.com. For further information, contact Corey Jane Cardoso, the Guild House AIR administrator, at air@guildhall.org.
