Rick Friedman’s interior design show is returning for a second edition this summer, accompanied by the debut of his Hamptons Jewelry Show.
The Hamptons Contemporary Design + Décor Show, which was first held in 2016 and took a year off in 2017, has been rebranded as DesignHamptons. It will take place on the Southampton Elks Club fairgrounds from August 9 to 12 under a 20,000-square-foot pavilion.
The show’s focus will span interior design eras from the 1930s to the present. Products and services will be divided into three categories: Elegant Décor, Artisanal Design, and Outdoor Living.
Among the designs and products on display will be indoor/outdoor furniture, custom rugs, wall coverings, custom cabinetry, kitchen designs, bathroom accessories, wine cellars, handcrafted designer furniture, sculpture, woodworking, unique lighting pieces and entertaining concepts.
In 2008, Mr. Friedman founded the international modern and contemporary art fair ArtHamptons. He sold his entire portfolio of art fairs—which also included Art Aspen, Houston Fine Art Fair and Palm Springs Fine Art Fair—in 2015 to Georgia-based Urban Expositions.
The DesignHamptons opening night preview on Thursday, August 9, will benefit The Retreat, Domestic Violence Services of East Hampton. Trade Day will be on Friday, August 10, for industry professionals.
The inaugural Hamptons Jewelry Show will be held at the same location a week prior, from August 2 to 5. It is being marketed toward “well budgeted shoppers” who wish to buy directly from designers, wholesalers and manufacturers. The opening night preview on Thursday, August 2, will benefit The Ellen Hermanson Foundation.
