Jul 10, 2018 4:15 PM

Local kids will have the opportunity this summer to immerse themselves in hands-on workshops involving science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Camp Invention, a nationally recognized STEM program for kids in kindergarten through the sixth grade, introduces concepts in science and technology that help develop resourcefulness, problem-solving, and encourages entrepreneurship, according to the camp’s website.

Participants at the upcoming camp will experiment with self-driving robots, dog park design, smart home design, and their own unique inventions.

The camp will be held Monday, July 23, through Friday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Springs School. An additional four-day session will take place Monday, August 13, through Thursday, August 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at John Marshall Elementary School. For more information visit campinvention.org.
