Bay Street Theater Is All For Alabama

In the wake of a recent series of tragic storms and tornadoes in the South, Benefits by Bay Street, a program of Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor is presenting “All For Alabama: A Benefit Relief Concert For Tornado Victims.” The event, on Thursday, March 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the theater features an evening of local music by Eagle River Band, Jay Schneiderman & Friends and others. The event will be emceed by Mr. Schneiderman, Southampton Town Supervisor, and Bay Street’s executive director Tracy Mitchell.“Everyone involved will be volunteering their time and talents, including all of the musicians, the Bay Street staff and volunteers, and Jay Schneiderman and his staff,” stated Ms. Mitchell in a release. “It’s always so heartwarming to see the artists and the entire community come together in times of need for others.”

The “All for Alabama” relief concert is in honor of all those whose lives were literally uprooted in recent weeks by the tornadoes. Rebuilding will be required for many months and years to come. Suggested donation to the event is $25, but any amount is welcomed. All proceeds will be donated to United Way of Alabama.

Benefits by Bay Street periodically provides the theater and staffing for free to assist others in need. Past benefits include events for victims of the typhoon in the Philippines, the earthquake in Haiti, the tsunami in Japan, Long Island Victims of Hurricane Sandy, and the ambulance and fire teams who bravely assisted in the Sag Harbor Cinema fire. Together these events have raised over $62,000 for those in need from the generous East End community.
