OLA (Organización Latino-Americana) of Eastern Long Island will kick off the summer season with an evening of Flamenco-infused guitar and dance in association with Guild Hall in East Hampton.
“Sensaciones” on Friday, May 24 at 8 p.m. will star the Fox Brothers, a Miami guitar duo, along with a special guest Flamenco dancer, Sonia Olla who was the tour choreographer for Ricky Martin and Madonna.
In a statement, Minerva Perez, OLA’s executive director, explained that while in Miami in December, she happened to see the Fox Brothers perform and brought the idea of a partnership to Guild Hall’s artistic director, Josh Gladstone.
“…He loved it,” she noted. “I then wanted to add strong visual elements and found Sonia, a world class Flamenco dancer from Spain. This is a collaboration in all ways. These artists have never worked together before, and we are setting up song lists and production values that will excite and mesmerize the audience.”
“I love working with Guild Hall and their team! This adventure is different as it is a full collaboration and not simply a rental,” added Ms. Perez. “OLA is moving in that direction because it represents a true institutional commitment to the Latino community members hoping to be engaged artistically and culturally.”
Tickets for “Sensaciones” at Guild Hall are $20 to $60. The $60 VIP ticket includes premium seating, a pre-show garden reception at 7:30 p.m. with mezcal and tapas provided by Coche Comedor.
