International artists-in-residence, Afua Ansong and Cleek Schrey, will be leading the next family day at The Watermill Center which takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 15. Guests are invited to make their own instruments and play in concert with Mr. Schrey and the Saxophone Quartet. Writer and artist Ms. Ansong will lead families in creating printed tapestries inspired by Andinkra symbols from Ghana.

A Ghanian American, Ms. Ansong is a writer and artist who teaches contemporary and traditional West African dance. She incorporates the challenges of the African immigrant into her work, exploring themes of transition, citizenship and blackness.

Mr. Schrey is a fiddler, improviser and composer from Virginia who is now based in New York City where he collaborates with musicians from a wide spectrum of scenes and styles and even engages in festivals across the country and world.

Tickets are $5 to $10 watermillcenter.org. The Watermill Center is located at 39 Water Mill Towd Road, Water Mill.
