Two people were taken to Southampton Hospital and a third was treated for minor injuries following a head-on crash on a quiet back street in East Hampton on Friday afternoon.

The two vehicles, both SUVs, struck each other head on at a shallow curve on Dayton Lane, a narrow residential street that intersects Montauk Highway at the southern end of the East Hampton Village business district.

Dayton Lane was closed to traffic for about an hour following the accident. Additional information about the accident was not immediately available from police.
