The Clintons Are Visiting East Hampton Village

author on Aug 19, 2011

Former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are visiting East Hampton Village this week through September 5, a source familiar with the visit who asked not to be identified said Friday afternoon.

The source independently confirmed a previous report that the Clintons would be staying on Lily Pond Lane at the residence of Elie Hirschfeld. Their stay was to start just three days after Mr. Clinton’s 65th birthday last Friday.

The Clintons visited East Hampton when Mr. Clinton was president in 1998, staying at the Georgica Pond home of Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. President Clinton made an appearance at the Amagansett Firehouse that time. During a more recent visit, the Clintons stayed at the Wiborg Beach residence of Thomas H. Lee in 2008. That was shortly after then New York Senator Hillary Clinton had lost her bid to be the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.
