A Long Island Power Authority worker suffered a severe shock on Thursday afternoon while working on a downed line outside a house on Fredericka Lane in East Hampton Village.
The man was taken by ambulance to Southampton Hospital and is expected to recover, according to East Hampton Village Police Chief Jerry Larsen.
Chief Larsen said the call came in at 12:18 p.m. East Hampton Village Police and East Hampton Ambulance Association volunteers responded.
“He got a good zap,” the chief said, “but I think he’s going to be all right.”
Police did not release the name of the LIPA worker.
