Andrea Grover, who is presently the curator of special projects at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, has been picked as the new executive director of Guild Hall of East Hampton.

Ms. Grover will begin in her new post September 1. She will replace long-time director Ruth Appelhof, who announced nearly a year ago that she would retire toward the end of 2016.

“Andrea’s extensive experience, accomplishments and local standing make her the ideal person to take the reins of Guild Hall and lead us into the future,” Guild Hall Board of Trustees Chair Marty Cohen said in a statement. “She brings a dynamic vision along with insightful knowledge of our ever-evolving community.”

Ms. Grover has been with the Parrish Art Museum since 2011. Back in 1998, she founded the Aurora Picture Show, a center for film and new media in Houston, and she directed it 10 years.

Before joining the Parrish, she was a Warhol Curatorial Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, and in 2013 she was awarded a Center for Curatorial Leadership Fellowship with a residency at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
