Questlove, a member of The Roots—the house band from “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”—will DJ this Friday night, August 11, at the Guild Hall Summer Gala after-party.

The gala celebrates the opening of “Avedon’s America,” an exhibition of portraits by the late photographer Richard Avedon, and honors the philanthropist and photographer Bonnie Lautenberg. April Gornik, the North Haven artist, serves as the evening’s host.

Artists Yung Jake, whose “Emoji Portraits” were recently featured in The New York Times, will DJ the cocktail hour.

The attire is black and white.

Dessert and Dancing tickets, with admission at 9 p.m., are $250. Admission for cocktails only, from 5 to 8 p.m., is $500. Young Patrons tickets, from age 21 to 40, are $100 and include access to cocktails, from 5 to 8 p.m., and dessert and dancing, at 9:30 p.m. Visit guildhall.org for tickets.
