Lasata, the East Hampton estate where Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis spent her summers in childhood, is now in contract.
Douglas Elliman Real Estate, which listed the century-old residence for $29,995,000, confirmed Thursday that the Arthur Jackson-designed home on 7 acres at 121 Further Lane has found a buyer—though the identity of that buyer and the final sale price were not revealed. Agents Carol Nobbs and Eileen O’Neill had the co-listing for Douglas Elliman, while broker Susan Breitenbach had the co-listing for Corcoran.
The asking price was $38,995,000 when Lasata was initially listed in 2016.
Built in 1917, Lasata is said to have gotten its name from a Native American word that means “place of peace.” Ms. Kennedy Onassis’s grandparents, Maude Sergeant and John “The Major” Vernou Bouvier Jr., purchased the estate in 1925.
Reed Krakoff, a former creative director of Coach, and his wife, Delphine, bought Lasata in 2007 and updated the residence with extensive renovations.
The sale includes the original 8-bedroom house plus a 2-bedroom guest house, tennis court and swimming pool with a pool house.
An additional parcel that was part of the Lasata estate—4.4 acres at 40 Middle Lane that can accommodate a 10,000-square-foot residence—is also in contract. It was listed for $11,995,000.
