The Hamptons International Film Festival’s “Now Showing” series, which screens new releases that were not destined for East End cinemas, returns to Guild Hall in East Hampton on select Saturdays in December and January.

Two films have been announced, both with two opportunities to see them.

“Maria by Callas” from director Tom Volf, a documentary about the celebrated opera singer Maria Callas who died in 1977, will be shown on December 22 and 29.

“Shoplifters” from director Hirokazu Kore-eda, the winner of the Cannes Palme D’Or, is a narrative film about a dysfunctional band of outsiders in Tokyo. It will be shown on January 5 and 12.

All screenings have 6 p.m. showtimes and tickets are $15. For more information, visit hamptonsfilmfest.org.
