Housewives with guns blazing would be the last thing people think of when they hear a mention of “the Hamptons.” But that may change if HBO’s new pilot, “Suburban Shootout,” takes off.
The pilot, which HBO bills as a half-hour dark comedy about “rival gangs of homicidal housewives,” starts filming in East Hampton and Bridgehampton this month. The show is a take-off on a British television series of the same name about a city dweller who retreats to an upscale suburb with her husband in search of the quiet life. She’s in for anything but when she finds the welcoming committee is two armed gangs of middle-aged women seeking to recruit her onto their side.
