Ron Baron avoids court date again

Mar 31, 2009 3:24 PM

Once again, financier Ron Baron did not appear in East Hampton Town Justice Court for a scheduled arraignment on Monday, March 30, to face charges filed after he had a protected dune bulldozed and built an 800-foot concrete wall, without the necessary permits, at his Further Lane oceanfront property.

Mr. Baron’s attorney, Tina Piette, requested adjournment and the town consented, rescheduling for April 20.

“There may be some remediation in the works,” Town Attorney Tiffany Scarlato said, “including restoration of a dune on at least a portion of the property. It seems like the thing that keeps them moving is Mr. Baron’s arraignment.”
