Mary Patricia Hallinan of Milford, Connecticut, and East Quogue died on November 1. She was 86.
Ms. Hallinan was born in the Bronx on March 20, 1927, to Michael and Mary Ryan Gormley. She lived on Long Island for most of her life and moved to Milford four years ago. She was a graduate of Southampton College and worked as an executive secretary for many years. A talented poet and artist, she volunteered her time to many organizations, including the Westhampton Garden Club, the East End Arts Council, the National League of American Pen Women, Inc. and she was president of the St. Charles Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph; her children, Patricia Casey and husband John of Milford, and William Hallinan of New York; and grandchildren, Robert Cummings III, John Casey III and Ashlinn Casey. She was predeceased by a brother, the Rev. William J. Gormley.
A funeral Mass was said on November 9 at St. Mary Church in Milford. Interment was private. Arrangements were under the direction of the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home in Milford. Online condolences may be posted at www.gregoryfdoylefuneralhome.com.
