The Eastport South Manor wrestling team wrapped up its regular season last week after splitting its League V dual meets. The Sharks lost, 49-16, at Islip on January 25, but then defeated Bellport, 56-21, at home on Friday to finish with a 5-2 record. Islip (7-0) won the regular season league title.
With its most successful dual meet season in school history with a 25-5 overall record on the books, ESM will turn its focus to the League V Championships, which will be waged on Saturday at Bellport High School, starting at 9:30 a.m. The top three wrestlers in each weight class at the league tournament advance to the Suffolk County Division I Championships, with the fourth place wrestler being an alternate.
