After Defeating Bellport, ESM Girls Hoops Falls To Lindenhurst

The Eastport South Manor girls basketball team won its first playoff game in two years after beating Bellport, 59-56, on Friday night in the opening round of the Suffolk County Class AA playoffs. ESM last won a playoff game in 2010 when it defeated Huntington in the first round of the Class A playoffs.

Friday night’s victory advanced the 18th-seeded Lady Sharks to the second round of the playoffs at second-seeded Lindenhurst on Monday afternoon, where they lost 58-23, putting an end to their season. Lindenhurst advanced to the quarterfinals on Wednesday and hosted Northport, which defeated Copiague Monday night.
