The Eastport South Manor girls lacrosse team was defeated for the first time this season over the break, with an 11-5 loss at home to undefeated Shoreham/Wading River on Friday.
Even with the loss, the Lady Sharks sit in fourth place in Division II, as of Tuesday morning, with a 5-1 overall record. Shoreham/Wading River (5-0), a Class C team this season, is one of two teams still undefeated in Division II. Hauppauge (6-0) is also undefeated.
ESM head coach Becky Thorn said her team was scared to lose, which is never a good thing going into a game.
