One person was treated for undisclosed injuries on Thursday morning following a two-car collision on Montauk Highway in Speonk, just west of Clay Pit Road, that closed the highway’s westbound lane for about 40 minutes.
At approximately 8:55 a.m., the Eastport Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident and found one vehicle with front-end damage and a second with rear-end damage, according to a press release issued by Francis “Bud” Mazura, the spokesman for the fire department. One driver was transported by ambulance to the Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment but the extent of injuries is unknown.
