Norman Remler Of Eastport Dies June 3

Norman Remler of Eastport died June 3, 2017 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue. He was 90.

Mr. Remler was born in Brooklyn on August 26, 1926, and graduated Lafayette High School in 1943. He served in World War II in Okinawa and Korea. He started his own food brokerage business, Remler Sales Company, as well as NorLen Marketing Company. He served as president of both the West Washington Meat Association and the Eastern Dairy Deli Association.

Mr. Remler was known for his beautiful head of hair and at one point modeled for Grecian Formula.

After retiring, he became an active member of his community. He volunteered for the Anti-Bias Task Force, was a counselor for SCORE, and was a mediator in the Southampton courts. He loved tennis, playing poker, and keeping up to date on current events.

Mr. Remler is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys Remler; a daughter, Leslie Moss and husband David Moss; ason, Robert Remler and wife Margery Remler; and four grandchildren, Harrison Remler, Penina Remler, Carly Moss and Allie Moss.

A funeral service was held on Monday, June 5, at Follett & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
