Rental Registry Meeting In East Hampton Thursday

Nov 17, 2015 5:20 PM

The East Hampton Town Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday night, November 19, on the proposed townwide requirement that homes being offered for rent be registered with the town.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Abrahams Path in Amagansett. The Town Board agreed to move the meeting from Town Hall to accommodate the large crowd expected to turnout.

The rental registry would require a homeowner to certify that their house complies with basic safety requirements and to notify the town of each new tenant, and the number of tenants, to occupy a house.
