UPDATED 2:50 p.m.
East Hampton Town Police Detective Lieutenant Chris Anderson said police are continuing to investigate the cause of a crash on Thursday night that took the life of Kelly A. Doroski of Sag Harbor.
“The southbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, left the southbound lane and entered the wooded area,” the detective said.
The East Hampton Fire Department’s heavy rescue squad removed Ms. Doroski from the vehicle. The accident took place south of Plank Road on Route 114, from which traffic had to be diverted last night. No witnesses had come forward as of Friday afternoon, the detective said, adding that police would welcome information.
