Police Investigating Cause Of Fatal Accident On Route 114 In East Hampton

Feb 8, 2013 3:07 PM

UPDATED 2:50 p.m.

East Hampton Town Police Detective Lieutenant Chris Anderson said police are continuing to investigate the cause of a crash on Thursday night that took the life of Kelly A. Doroski of Sag Harbor.

“The southbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, left the southbound lane and entered the wooded area,” the detective said.

The East Hampton Fire Department’s heavy rescue squad removed Ms. Doroski from the vehicle. The accident took place south of Plank Road on Route 114, from which traffic had to be diverted last night. No witnesses had come forward as of Friday afternoon, the detective said, adding that police would welcome information.

A 23-year-old Sag Harbor woman was killed in a car accident on Route 114 in East Hampton on Thursday, according to East Hampton Town Police. Responding officers found a 2009 Mazda in a wooded area off the southbound lane of Route 114 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Kelly A. Doroski, the driver, was transported to Southampton Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. East Hampton Town Police are investigating and have asked anyone with information to call 537-7575.
