East Hampton Town Police arrested two men after police said they robbed a third man in East Hampton on Sunday night.

Jacob R. Carter, 23, of Montauk and Jonathan I. Pressley, 21, of Southampton each were charged at about midnight on Monday with second-degree robbery, a felony.

Police said they took $1,000 in cash from a 20-year-old East Hampton resident following a confrontation at someone else’s home on Three Mile Harbor Road. “The two confronted him. There was a struggle,” Town Police Detective Lieutenant Chris Anderson said on Monday.

Armed with a description of the vehicle the two men used to flee the scene, police responding to a 911 call found the car on Stephen Hands Path in East Hampton, according to a press release from the police department. Arraigned in East Hampton Town Justice Court on Monday, Mr. Carter posted $20,000 cash bail and was released, while Mr. Pressley was taken to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside in lieu of $20,000 cash bail, according to Det. Lt. Anderson.

Jonathan I. Pressley, that name has been in the news before. Maybe now there will be enough to make sure it isn't.
By Qguy (19), quogue on Feb 11, 13 4:20 PM
Make sure it isn't? He's on the deans list at his school. He's been trying to turn his life around for the best. You ever hear of being at the wrong place at the wrong time? Well that's exactly what happened. You don't know him. You don't know the life he's lived. You don't know the trials and tribulations he's over come. He's turning out to be a wonderful young man. He's a loving father. And generally a good person always willing to help any person in need. The type that still hold the door.. So ...more

What? Was he or wasn't he uninvited in someone else's house on Three Mile Harbor Road for nefarious purposes?

How can that be construed as "trying to turn his life around for the best."

You need to calm down and figure this out, Mommabear93 -- really!

Believe me I have figured this out. If you knew what you were talking about you would have know that the "victim" was acquainted with a defendant. Yet you say uninvited, can you be sure of that? I don't know where you're getting your facts from but to claim that their presents was nefarious, are you a psychoanalysts? Psychologist? Psychiatrist? Mind reader perhaps? What qualifications do you have to determine what purpose they had being there?
By Mommabear93 (4), Riverhead on Feb 11, 13 6:19 PM
Because we all get arrested when we have done nothing wrong.

dnice, no one has ever been arrested that was innocent of charges? Where do you live? An arrest does not indicate guilt, that is what hearings are for.

Are you implying that the majority of arrests are improper or just a small percentage? Of course there are people that are exonerated of charges, for a number of reason, some of which have nothing to do with actual guilt. If he turns out to be completely innocent, I will retract my statement. Phrases like "turning his life around" make me think he isn't. I have been wrong before.

Mommabear you really should wake up and smell the coffee, its poor parenting and excuse making and unaccountalblity that allows these (good kids) to be thugs. Your just like my friend whose kid needed a ride home only it was in a stolen car. Stop making exuces for obvioulsy you child and start being a responsible parent!!!

Excuse me? My child? The name is mommabear93! I'm 20 genius! (I'm sure you can do the basic math, either boy is my child!) And all of you act as if you know these young men. Well you don't. Poor parenting? Are you a parent? If so then you should know kids don't come with instructions! If not who are you to judge anyone's parenting? Who are you to judge period?! The only person to sit in judgment of these boys or your "friend's kid" is God, and a the judge. You act supercilious, but your grammar ...more

Don't worry, mommabear, these right-wing lunatics ALWAYS pass judgement without knowing the facts because facts are of no importance to them.

Oh, and how about the "fact" that Gabriel Giffords was shot by someone influenced by Rush Limbaugh and Palin's "target" map? Are those the kind of reasoned, fact based judgements you're proud of?

witch hazel: You mean like the "fact" that Romney didn't pay taxes for 10 years or the "fact" that Chrysler wasn't going to produce Jeeps in China?
By RealityFirst (597), Bridgehampton on Feb 12, 13 11:03 AM
Of course Chrysler was going to produce Jeeps in China, but they were not going to discontinue any Jeep production in the US - that was the Romney lie. His only problem was his timing allowed his opponents to get the truth out to the American voters before his lies took hold. Only a few ignorants are still beating that dead horse. In fact, Jeeps have been produced in China since the mid 1980's; just google Beijing Jeep for the details.

That's really lame. Do you mean to tell us that it is acceptable for a presidential candidate or one of his handlers to read and poorly comprehend a single paragraph of an article and build a major speech around it without checking for details and accuracy? It wasn't "confusion", it was bald faced deception. Your alibi making doesn't add to your credibility any more than it did to Romney's.

Sorry reality, on the Chrysler issue......Romney claimed that Chrysler was going to fire UAW workers and produce the Jeep in China, to be sold in the USA. Turns out that Chrysler denied this as the plan was to build the Jeeps in China for sale in China. No one lost a job. It would be financially impossible to build the Jeep here, ship it and sell in China at a profit. Just a few "facts".

Never attempt to dissuade Liberals, Progressives, Democrats (but I repeat myself) or arch Conservatives with "'facts,'" that way lies futility.

As for Mammabear93, at this point she can be dismissed as a hysteric -- there's little rationality in her comments here, only unfocused anger.
By Frank Wheeler (1305), Northampton on Feb 12, 13 12:36 PM
Hysteric? Unfocused anger? Little rationality in my comments? Excuse me but is it not you right wingers who jumped on the unfocused anger bandwagon (you're all still mad you lost the election, CLEARLY!) Talking about Mitt, and the auto industry. Why don't you check out what he did to the hard working people of the American auto industry. Now that's facts! His Swiss nontaxable bank account, fact!
Rush claims to be a good Christian man. But has 4 ex wife's. none of which will make comments ...more

As I stated, irrationality! What does Mitt Romney, Chrysler or Rush Limbaugh have to do with any of this?

Your "facts" cannot be evaluated as anything close to factual unless the source of those facts are known, otherwise they are nothing more than unsubstantiated allegations -- presently not fully supported by the text of the root article.

DagDavid, get back to us when you learn how to read.
By Frank Wheeler (1305), Northampton on Feb 12, 13 3:51 PM
Frank, love how you try to twist the topic back to your bs. Why not call out your fellow lunatics who were the first to mention Romney, Chrysler and Limbaugh, or do you only attack women? You have zero credibility, dude.

that was not theirs to have?
By J. Totta (70), Sag Harbor on Feb 13, 13 10:48 AM
I second Franks observation!
By steve457 (22), southampton on Feb 12, 13 2:15 PM
Mr. Wheeler, mommabear is absolutely correct, the hysteria was coming from those who typically spew far-right political ideology on every single post on this site. It was realityfirst who injected his usual brand of political zealotry and you and others who jumped on that bandwagon. Mommabear's post was a direct response to the article whereas yours was nothing more than another ad hominem attack of misplaced anger.

Realityfirst, must you always inject your bs into every single article? What the hell does this story have to do with the last political election, aside from the fact that you are clearly never going to get over the loss? Try contributing something positive every now and again, it may make you less miserable.

Yes, we must all make a concerted effort not to inject politics into every single thread. It cheapens the discussion.
