It’s been two months since the Childhood Development Center of the Hamptons closed down, but its students are still heading back to school.

Students who attended the CDCH school were there for general education, special education, and gifted students in kindergarden through fifth grade. With the school now closed, students have been distributed to enroll in other school districts in the East Hampton area.

According to Springs School principal Eric Casale, Springs has taken in 27 students. Mary McCaffrey, district clerk of Wainscott Common School District said that no students from CDCH have been admitted for school in the district. Grace Lightcap, secretary to the superintendent of Montauk School also said that no students from CDCH have been admitted to the school for the 2016-2017 year.

Amagansett Union Free School District Clerk Cheryl Blocker said that only one student from CDCH has been admitted to the district this year. Wendy Albrecht, who works with the Pupil Personnel Services of the East Hampton Union Free School District, said that 13 CDCH students in total are attending schools within the district, with 2 students attending Our Lady of the Hamptons preschool, three special education students, and eight general education students.
