East Hampton Girls Soccer Program To Host Charity 'Battle of the Bonackers' Game On October 16

Oct 9, 2018 2:22 PM

For the past 10 years, high school girls soccer teams across Suffolk County have come together to raise money toward “Kicking Out” cancer. Each team is responsible for its own fundraising efforts, and this year the East Hampton varsity and junior varsity girls soccer teams have decided to get in on the action.

On Tuesday, October 16, the program will hold a charity soccer game at the high school, pitting staff members from around the school district against each other in the “Battle of the Bonackers.” According to varsity head coach Cara Nelson, more than 30 staff members, including athletic director Joe Vasile-Cozzo and high school principal Adam Fine, will play in the game. Players from the soccer teams will be the coaches, referees, announcers and scorekeepers. The game will kick off at 4:30 p.m. on the turf field at the high school.
