On Saturday, July 13, Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre will present “Green Afternoon VII,” an annual innovative presentation of modern dance with wine and food in the home and gardens of architects Marcia Previti and Peter Gumpel. The event begins at 5 p.m. with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and movement installations in the gardens and outdoor sitting rooms throughout the property.Performers dance in tree houses, on and around sculptures, the swimming pool, the wooded path, and more. The audience will then have the opportunity to see an excerpt of the company’s recent world premiere piece “Crossroads” performed on the property’s great lawn.
“Crossroads” premiered at New York Live Arts on June 20.
“Green Afternoon VII” takes place at 230 Old Stone Highway, East Hampton. Tickets start at $125 at amandaselwyndance.org.
Founded in 2000, Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre has presented more than 75 productions at New York City venues, and through Notes in Motion Outreach Dance Theatre, brings dance to New York City public school children.
