William Hamilton Swartz Jr., known as Toby, of Westhampton Beach died Sunday, April 5, after a long illness. He was 71.
Raised in New York City, Mr. Swartz graduated with honors from Hotchkiss, then from Yale in 1965, and earned a master’s in business from Columbia Business School. He worked for JP Morgan in Manhattan, and subsequently in Wilmington, Delaware, before retiring due to disability. He was a longtime member of the Quantuck Beach Club in Westhampton Beach, as well as the Westhampton Country Club, where he won the tennis championship in the 1970s.
Mr. Swartz is survived by his former wife, Susan; a sister, Killeen Durand; a nephew and two nieces.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Chandler Funeral Home in Wilmington.
